PC crashes are inevitable!  There is a relatively inexpensive way to insure no data loss when a CEMDAS PC crashes or loses communication with the PLC.  Monitoring Solutions Downtime Recovery (DTR) option is a method whereby data is stored in parallel at the PLC level. 

A Red Lion module is connected locally to the PLC via Ethernet.  It collects data concurrently with the DAS PC.  In the event of a loss of the PC or the communication from the PLC to the PC, the Red Lion continues to collect data.  Once the PC problem is resolved, CEMDAS automatically restores the data to the PLC filling in the gaps and leaving no downtime. 

A Red Lion module can easily hold 90 days or more of most CEMS’ data –more than should ever be required.  At a cost of less than $5K it’s a great insurance for any CEMS owner.
